The Ponoka Stampede is one of the biggest rodeos in Canada and a prestigious rodeo ranking high on the list of cowboys' favorites. The Ponoka buckle is a coveted prize for event winners. The 2015 contest took place on June 25-July 1 in Ponoka, Alberta. The Ponoka Stampede is also renowned for its nightly chuckwagon races; the rodeo ranks in the top five for prize money awarded.

The Ponoka Stampede is held with a preliminary round and a finals, plus a special Showdown round which invites the top four in each event's finals to return for an additional $15,000 in prize money.
