How to Remove Skunk Odor From a Cat Without Bathing it
- 1). For a longer-haired cat, cut its hair short to remove the worst of the smell. Enlist a friend or family member to hold your cat still while you snip off the ends of his fur with scissors or pet clippers. Discard the hair in a dumpster to stop the odor from penetrating your living space.
- 2). Mix together 10 parts hydrogen peroxide and one part baking soda. Add a squirt of degreasing dishwashing liquid. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
- 3). Spray over the cat’s coat and allow to air dry.
- 4). Repeat steps two and three if the smell lingers.
