GE Refrigerator Freezer Is Icing Up With a Whirring Noise
- 1). Clear out the freezer.
- 2). Unplug the freezer and allow all ice buildup to melt.
- 3). Remove the plastic plugs at the back of the freezer with a flathead screwdriver.
- 4). Remove the screws from behind the plastic plugs using a screwdriver.
- 5). Pull the cover out of the freezer.
- 6). Remove the screws from the fan cover and remove the cover.
- 7). Remove the screws from the fan and remove it from the back of the freezer. Unplug the wire connectors before tugging the fan out.
- 8). Plug in the new fan and attach it and the fan cover to the back wall of the freezer with the screws. Replace the back cover and screw it tight.
- 9). Plug in the freezer and test normal operation.
