How to Prepare Red Wheat Berries
- 1). Examine 2 cups of wheat berries carefully to discard any stones. Rinse the wheat berries under cool running water.
- 2). Pour the wheat berries into a heavy-bottom saucepan. Cover the berries with 7 cups of water. Add the salt to the water.
- 3). Bring the water to a boil. Reduce the heat and cover the wheat berries. Simmer the berries for one hour. Stir the berries occasionally to prevent burning.
- 4). Drain the wheat berries. Rinse the berries under lukewarm water. Serve the wheat berries while still hot.
