Chateau Marmont

• The Chateau Marmont's architecture mimics that of a residence or castle in France's Loire Valley. According to an article by Virginia Campbell, guests at the Chateau have included Elizabeth Taylor, Clark Gable, Howard Hughes and Warren Beatty. It was originally built in 1929 as a high-end apartment complex. There are 63 rooms, cottages and bungalows in this hotel. Are all soundproof. Some rooms offer full size kitchens and balconies. The two-bedroom penthouse has two bathrooms, fireplace and a 1,500 square foot terrace, with a panoramic view of Hollywood. The property is pet friendly and offers amenities for them. Sunset Tower Hotel

• This hotel was designed in 1929 and sits on the Sunset Strip. Known for its Art Deco architecture, it was renovated in 2004 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne and Elizabeth Taylor all took up residence at the hotel. Guest rooms offer amenities like wireless Internet, Egyptian linen, mini-bar and flat screen television. Penthouses are approximately 2,000 feet and offer views of the Hollywood Hills and Los Angeles. A 24-hour fitness center and outdoor pool are available to guests. Highland Gardens Hotel

• This hotel was formerly known as the Hollywood Landmark Hotel. It's within walking distance to Hollywood attractions and is just off Hollywood Boulevard. The hotel opened in the 1950s and has been host to members of the Rat Pack, Jefferson Airplane and Janis Joplin. Each of the 70 rooms at the Highland Gardens Hotel has a balcony.
