    • 1). Insert your pearl into a vice clamp and tighten to hold the pearl firmly. If you do not have a vice clamp, you can hold the pearl steady in a pair of self-locking tweezers with ring-shaped ends.

    • 2). Insert a 1/16-inch drill bit into your drill or rotary tool, and drill a hole through the center of the pearl. Release the pearl from the clamp or tweezers.

    • 3). Cut a 3-inch-long piece of medium-gauge jewelry wire. Slide one end of the wire through the hole in the pearl. Slide the wire through the hole until there is an even amount of wire on each side of the pearl.

    • 4). Use a pair of thin-nosed pliers to twist the wire once around the pearl. Make a loop above the pearl from one end of the wire, and twist both wire ends around the base of the loop. Cut off the excess wire.

    • 5). Cut an 18-inch-long piece of jewelry wire and slide the loop above the pearl onto the wire.

    • 6). Slide one end of the jewelry wire into a crimp end, and squeeze the crimp closed. Repeat with the other end.

    • 7). Open two jump rings and hook one onto each crimp end. Hook a necklace clasp onto one of the jump rings and squeeze the rings closed.
