Having your dog litter box trained is the best of both worlds when it comes to your dog being housetrained! When your dog is litter box trained, he or she can go potty indoors or outdoors.
If no one is available to let your dog outside to go potty then the litter box is available.

Who wants to go through all that work anyways? Not me! When you use a crate to do any kind of puppy or dog training, you do all the work.
It is up to you to let your dog out of the crate and take him or her to the litter box.

What a pain! That is too much work and I feel sorry for any poor dog being stuck in a box that is only big enough for them to turn around for all those hours.

Instead of a crate you use a dog exercise pen and pads or paper to begin with.
