Ebook Writing - How to Get Testimonials That Are Vital to Selling Your Ebook
Just about every sales page you see contains testimonials for one reason only - because they work.
So how do you get real-life testimonials that will boost your profits? Once you complete your first ebook, you need to get it into the hands of others.
But the hands of others will not be paying customers yet.
Instead, you need to find a small group of people that you can send the eBook to for absolutely free.
These people should have a decent knowledge of your subject and some credibility in your niche.
The purpose in giving your eBook away is to get feedback and testimonials.
Let them know that any comments they send back will be used on your sales page.
If you get good comments, then use them for testimonials.
If you get bad comments, don't feel discouraged! You should use this feedback to improve your eBook so that it will sell even more copies! You might be surprised at some of the feedback you get.
As authors, it is very easy to get so involved in the details that we forget the big picture.
A fresh set of knowledgeable eyes can see the weaknesses that we have not noticed.
If the good comments that come back aren't quite testimonial ready, send them back, explain that you are trying to get ready-made testimonial comments, and politely ask if they would mind rewording the comments to make them more clear.
One final note - don't ever, ever edit someone else's comments.
That just ain't right.
