Achieve Your Goals or Die Trying
(Goal -noun- the result or achievement toward which effort is directed) How many of you have goals set in your life? Waking up with a sense of purpose and direction of where your life is going? Everyone has some where they want to be right? Maybe to graduate college and land a well-paying job, or to become a musician or sports athlete.
Whatever your goals may be, I want you to think about how often you actually achieve your goals or work toward attaining those goals.
Sure, it is easy to set goals and have an idea of what you want to do, but how hard is it to actually accomplish your goals...
? This is what I want to talk about with you here.
I want to preface the rest of this post by telling you that I am only going to briefly go over how to set and make goals, but will spend the rest of the time talking about achieving and realizing your goals into reality.
1.
KNOW YOUR GOALS! Before you go anywhere, you must know where you are going, right? You literally do not go anywhere, anytime, EVER without having some final destination in mind.
Know exactly where it is you want to go before you begin that journey, just as you would if you had to take a really huge dump and were about to crap your pants.
Your butt would find a toilet no matter what it took if you were about to poop yourself, right? The principle is the same! If you want it, you must go get it.
So have your goals mapped out with the same intensity and desire as if your behind was about to explode in public.
Do whatever it takes to find that toilet! 2.
Did I say this already? but...
SERIOUSLY, KNOOWWW YOUR GOALS!!! Ok, seriously.
Just to hit the hammer to the nail here, you must know where you are going before you ever begin your journey! Do yourself a favor and write out a map (literally) where the X at the bottom of the page is your goal (the toilet) and at the top is the start (the shard you just let off).
Now go down the lines and begin to fill in your journey (the trip to the nearest toilet while being non-conspicuous).
Doing this literally could take less 5 minutes (or as long as you choose), but that 5 minutes will change your life immediately.
The same principle applies to ANY goals you wish to accomplish big or small.
Whether it be to lose 5 lbs.
or to become a billionaire, know where it is you want to go and then plan your journey on how to get there.
ACHIEVING YOUR GOALS Setting goals is the easy part of this process, but what about actually achieving your goals and turning them into reality? How do you know when to stop making lists, and to actually start working towards what you want? "The time is always NOW.
" Start right away on what it is you what to achieve (your tummy is rumbling).
Begin to think about how to get where you are going (that toilet), and what is it exactly you're going to have to do to get there (i.
e.
come up with some clever excuse to get away from all your friends in a hurry).
Action.
Nothing can be done without action (think about finding that bathroom).
You must get up and move first (or else you'll just poo all over yourself and no one likes the kid with poopy pants).
Don't let your goal just sit on that piece of paper, or bounce around the room in your head.
Take action towards what you want to achieve (or else you'll just have poop in your pants).
Now I know it is easy for me to sit here and to tell you how to achieve your goals, but how can I direct someone else for something I may not be doing myself? For this part of the post, I have decided not to tell you how to achieve your goals, but instead I am going to show you.
"Wait, what?" That's right, I am going to show you how to accomplish goals and how it is done by putting myself to the test.
For the next 30 days (until Dec.
31st), I am going to set personal goals for myself and work towards achieving them everyday.
And while I am doing this, I am going to document my progress and post helpful advice I am learning along the way.
It may be easy to tell someone else how to accomplish goals, but may not be very effective in actually motivating them.
So I decided to take the challenge myself and to document all the details and principles it takes to accomplish any goal.
I am going to post my goals here for everyone to see, and a few times a week I am going to check in and update everyone with my progress as well as any helpful tips along the way.
I am doing this because I want to be a personal representation of what it means to achieve goals big or small, and hopefully motivate someone out there to do the same.
The time is always right the hell now, and there is no better time (literally) than to begin right away.
So here I am going to post some daily, weekly, and monthly goals for myself.
I will update them regularly over the next 30 days and track my progress with any helpful tips or advice I come up with to achieving goals, (if any, haha).
Wish me luck.
Daily: -Drink 64 oz.
of water -Meditate for at least 5 minutes -Drink a protein shake Weekly: -Workout every other day Monthly: -Have a 6-pack (for LH) -Create and complete 1 song -Weigh 215 lbs (currently 210 lbs) -Volunteer for the holidays These are my personal goals, but feel free to write down your own goal sheet (you can see that I want to get into better shape).
But even if it is just daily goals and something as simple as "don't forget to floss", I encourage you to try it.
Hope this helps!
