How to Ship Alcohol
- 1). Locate a shipping company licensed to ship alcohol. For example, UPS and Fed-Ex will ship wine and other liquor, with restrictions, to certain destinations.
- 2). Verify your desired destination is legal with your shipping company. For example, APO/FPO boxes forbid alcohol and other hazardous materials.
- 3). Verify your needs can be matched at the shipping company. For example, UPS and Fed-Ex will only ship alcohol between licensed individuals or companies or if you are sending purchased alcohol to a consumer.
- 4). Package your liquor like you would any fragile items. Wrap your bottles individually in small bubble wrap. Wrap the bottles together in larger bubble wrap, and then wrap it again in stretch film enough times to provide some cushioning. Each group of bottles should be wrapped at least four times for proper cushioning. Ensure the box has at least 1/2 inch of space on all sides.
- 5). Drive to your local shipping office or request a pickup.
