In the summer of 2006, Ev Russell and I entered into an adventure with the Kitten Diary, which was to track the growth of a brand new litter of Scottish Fold Kittens. Our intent was to help my readers learn about the development of kittens from birth, as well as to enjoy the pictures of these three kittens (one male and two females). The diary took on a life of its own, as we held a "name the kittens" contest, entries were accepted, and names were voted on for the three beautiful babies.
If you've followed this diary from the beginning, you know about the tragic death of Bluebelle at seven weeks.

We last left the remaining kittens Butterscotch and Sprinkles at 10 weeks, while Ev took a breather to recover from her loss.

They say that "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans." Life was apparently not finished throwing blows in Ev's direction. I recently received an email from her, telling me that Butterscotch has joined his sister at the Rainbow Bridge. As with Bluebelle, there was very little warning, and Butterscotch was suddenly gone.

I'm happy to report that Sprinkles is thriving, and now living with a friend of Ev Russell's a retired Scottish Fold breeder who was yearning for a kitten. Although Sprinkles has a new name, I prefer to always remember her as Sprinkles, as I'm sure my readers will, too. Her new human mom told Ev that "She bounces around like she has always been here. Nothing seems to phaze her and she puts up with my constant desire to pick her up and hold her... Thank you again. I loved the pictures of her growing up."

I don't think any of us have to worry about Sprinkles' future, as we mourn together the loss of Butterscotch.
