    All Purple

    • Use multiple shades of purple to create a blended table setting. If you're worried about the purple dominating the table too much, use a plain white tablecloth and add purple decorations around the table. Line the table with white and silver chargers, and position a light lavender-colored runner down the center of the table. Place darker purple napkins at each table setting and set your silverware on top of each napkin; wrap the two together with dark purple ribbon. Sprinkle azalea petals or the petals of a different purple flower around each plate.

    Pink and Purple

    • Light shades of pink and purple complement each other, as do royal purple and hot pink. Cover the table with a pale pink tablecloth, and cut purple fabric sections into large rectangles and arrange them around the table as placemats for guests. Wrap small boxes in pink paper and tie them shut with purple ribbon. Arrange the boxes in the center of the table and display a few cupcakes on their tops. Decorate the cupcakes with light purple frosting and pink sprinkles.

    Purple and Orange

    • You might not believe it, but purple and orange complement each other. To meld the two colors in your table display, first line the table with a pale purple tablecloth. Fill tall glass vases with oranges or kumquats and display them in the middle of the table as centerpieces. Wrap a large dark purple ribbon around each vase. As an added touch, gather together orange rock candy or orange suckers and tie a purple ribbon around each stick. Use white plates as a neutral counterbalance around the table and set one decorated candy piece in the center of each plate.

    Green and Purple

    • Cover your table with a plain white tablecloth. Find old green cake stands or paint white cake stands a pastel green shade. Arrange the cake stands around the table and use them to hold food for the event. For example, you can place green and purple cupcakes on one stand, fresh fruit on another and appetizers on a third. Display ferns and other green plants on the table and intersperse them with purple cut flowers. Alternate linen napkins by mixing together purple and green varieties; stack them near both ends of the table.
