Rooftop Access Litter Boxes: The Perfect Way To Remedy Cats Pooping Outside Of The Litter Box

So, who says a litter box; one of the least attractive things in a pet owners home, can't embrace form as well as function? Who says it can't work well with your décor and still give Fluffy an unparalleled washroom time experience? Well apparently some of the latest and greatest designers who have applied their talents to the ever blossoming design of pet products said so.
Some of these "cool cats" are even winning awards for their innovations.
I kind of think of the litter box as one of those unsightly necessities in our lives in which the style of said product got stuck in the late 70's.
I mean who dreams of revamping the "crapper", as it where, into something sleek and sexy, right? Well, the folks that are designers, innovators, creators and just plain sick of it, are dreamers of that dream.
For them, necessity became the mother of their inventions.
So, that brings us to the Rooftop Access Litter Boxes.
So, you guessed it, Kitty enters from the top.
This is not the tradition side entry mouse hole of yesteryear.
Top entry is genius for several reasons.
One reason is because the top serves as a lid or a cover and is designed like a grid or a walking off mat.
This allows the litter stuck to your cats' feet to fall through the cracks and not onto your clean litter-free floors.
Finally, a falling through the cracks scenario that I want to get involved with! Another reason is because it keeps out unwanted visitors.
Visitors, such as dogs looking for treats or small children who see a sand box to play in instead of an unsanitary No-Kids Zone! So now that Kitty is inside, he can scratch, cover and kick to his hearts' content! These units are pretty generous in size (think a large traditional pan) in width and in height.
I don't know about you, but one of my cats refused to get into the dreaded dark, smelly and stinky old school box with the hood on it.
I think she felt confined and didn't like being surrounded in smelly cave-like conditions.
The breathability factor just isn't there in the old pan-n-hood style boxes.
She would go everywhere around the box...
just not in the box! So even though I was skeptical about the rooftop access system, I had to give it a try.
Much to my delight, not only did she take to it like a duck to water, but she totally enjoys scratching the grid texture and loves the way it feels on hers paws.
She "Digs" it! She stays there a little extra longer scratching, and covering and scratching some more, while I'm on the side of the washing machine cheering her on and telling her what a good girl she is! She is 17 years old after all and finds accomplishment is the smallest of things these days and I'm her clearly biggest fan.
So now that you know a little more about these new fangled contraptions, I suggest you give them a try.
They truly are a game changer and it's about time!
