How to Upgrade from Firmware 3.1 to 3.1.3
- 1). If you're using a Macintosh, click the Apple icon on the top left side of your computer window. Click the Software Update icon to run the software update. If you're using a PC, click "Start" and then click the "Active Apple Software Update" button in your Programs menu.
- 2). Click on the "iTunes" software update from the menu, and click "Install" to install the latest version of the software on your computer. If you don't see this icon, you already have the latest version of the software. Updating your iTunes should take about five minutes to complete.
- 3). Attach the iPhone USB cable to the bottom of your iPhone. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on your computer. Click on your iPhone icon on the left side of the iTunes software window. Click on the Check for Update icon when it appears.
- 4). Wait for the system to scan for the 3.1.3 update. Click the "Install" button to install the update on your phone. This should take about 20 minutes to complete. Your phone will restart after the update is complete.
- 5). Click the "Eject" button on the right side of the iPhone icon on your iTunes software screen to eject it from the system. Remove the USB cable from the USB port on your computer and then from your iPhone.
