If you are a hemorrhoid sufferer you are not alone.
The painful itching, burning and overall discomfort and possibly bleeding is known to far too many people.
It truly does not have to be this way.
It may help to understand what hemorrhoids are and what may be causing them in your case.
Hemorrhoids are varicose veins that occur in the anal cavity.
They may present themselves internally or externally.
Sometimes they are small, and sometimes they can grow to be quite large.
They can be the cause of poor blood circulation and/or too much pressure on the area.
They may be caused by prolonged sitting, frequent constipation, or even a genetic predisposition for having hemorrhoids.
It is true that once you find yourself suffering from hemorrhoids, it is far more likely that you will suffer again at some point in the future.
Some people are led to believe that your choice is to either suffer or have surgery done.
And neither suggestion really seems too appealing.
However there are natural treatments that can be considered in combination with simple lifestyle changes that will drastically reduce your chances of suffering from hemorrhoids again in the future.
First you should clear up your problem by soothing the area and making sure that you have softer stools.
You can soothe the area with over-the-counter treatments but a natural alternative to this is an aloe vera gel or even Witch Hazel applications.
Also it may help to avoid sitting and/or taking frequent sitz baths.
In order to be sure you have softer stools you can take a stool softener for quick and temporary relief.
But the best idea would be to increase the fiber in your diet and continue to make sure that you get enough fiber in your diet.
This will certainly reduce the risk of constipation causing any future hemorrhoid flair ups.
