Comments

Justin Timberlake is just one step away from a 3rd #1 single from the album FutureSex / LoveSounds which is a rare feat. Fergie is also looking for a 3rd #1 single as "Glamorous" roars into the top 10 at #7. It looks like "I Wanna Love You" will leave the top 10 next week, but Akon will likely replace it with his new hit "Don't Matter" keeping him in the top 10 on 2 singles for more weeks. He is a featured artist on Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape." Speaking of "The Sweet Escape," only "Hollaback Girl" has been a bigger solo hit for Gwen.

Fall Out Boy debut at the top of the chart this week with their biggest sales week ever.

However, with the total well under 300,000, it seems like the sales totals are a bit disapppointing. The totals may be a sign of the overall weakness in the music market. Akon re-enters the top 5 on the strength of his recent singles success. Daughtry continue to hold onto a spot in the top 3 after 3 months on the chart.

Comments

Nelly Furtado finally wrests the top spot on radio from Beyonce, but it could only be a matter of time before Justin Timberlake usurps the lead. Fergie and Timbaland are hot this week, but Akon is perhaps even hotter as his new single "Don't Matter" roars onto the chart at #29.
