Loud Noise Coming From Carrier Heat Pump
Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Turn off your unit if you hear noise coming from the air handler. Check the cover panel on your outdoor unit and make sure it is screwed down tightly. Tighten the screws if they are loose.
2
Check the air supply registers and make sure there is sufficient airflow. Make sure all interior vents are open and unobstructed.
3
Remove the filter from the filter compartment. Remove dirt and debris, which can clog your unit and cause annoying squealing noises. If your filter is damaged, purchase a new one and replace it.
4
Remove the cover panel on your heating pump and inspect the blower belt. If the belt has fallen off its wheel, realign it. If the belt is damaged, purchase a new one and replace it. Refer to your unit's manual if you are unsure how to change the belt on your Carrier heating pump model.
