Guide Review - iFrogz EarPollution CS40 Headphones

Headphones are a bit of a mixed proposition. They're great for helping block out other sounds and allowing you to hear more clearly, but they can really bother your ears. So when the iFrogz EarPollution CS40 headphones arrived, I immediately tried them on for comfort. I am so impressed with the how they feel. The ear pads are cushioned in such a way that they don't put all of the pressure on the edges of your ears. I honestly could wear them all day.

The next thing I looked at was how easy they were to adjust. The headband adjusts easily, but without too much give. They aren't going to be sliding down off your ears.

I tried them on my four-year-old as well, and was able to adjust them properly for him. He wears them for long periods of time without complaint.

Comfort is all well and good, but sound is what really matters with headphones. The CS40's captured some nice bass and treble, but they did leave me with a slightly muffled impression. Because the cushions cover the entire earpieces, with mesh allowing the sound to pass through, there is a bit of loss in sound clarity. It was noticeable for the first minute or two after I put them on, but then it stopped being an issue. My husband noticed it as well. Since I am a casual listener of music/video, this wouldn't bother me over the long run. People who are more attune to minor sound variance will probably be annoyed. Then again, those people are probably in the market for a much higher-end set of headphones.

A hidden bonus for the EarPollution CS40 headphones is that they do indeed remove a base level of ear pollution. Whether it's road noise, crickets or just household buzz, the padded earpieces do a nice job of blocking those out. In fact, I've been known to pop on the CS40 headphones just to help me concentrate on my writing.
