The 5 Things You Need to Do When Developing Your Niche Plan

103 11
As you move towards putting together your first internet business, one of the first things you must do is develop a plan to come up with a niche that will get profits coming in as well as hold your interest.
For me it was pretty easy.
I was coaching swimming and started offering swim lessons to make a few extra bucks.
I decided to focus on adult swim lessons, since it seemed like everyone else was taking on children.
But adult swim lessons was not my niche.
What happened was that 90% of the adults that were coming to me needing lessons were triathletes.
I did a few Google searches and found that, while there were others selling swimming info online, nobody was focused on the triathlete crowd- so my business was born! I didn't touch keywords, or do a ton of research.
I just went with the facts that I observed "on the ground".
So my first piece of advice is to find a niche that you observe in your day to day job, business, school, sport, or some other part of life where you know things could be done better.
Here are my top 5 ways to develop and plan a niche market online: 1.
As mentioned above, look for where things are missing or lacking offline.
2.
Check Amazon.
com and see what kind of books are being written on interesting topics you have come up with.
The more, the better.
3.
Head to ClickBank.
com and see if there are any eBooks on this topic.
The fewer, the better.
4.
Go to Google AdWords, and do some searches on specific keywords that are your topic or related to your topic.
Look for the ones with the lowest competition and the most searches per month.
5.
Narrow down your best topic and compile a small list of keywords.
Doing the above 5 steps puts you ahead of 90% of people with an idea.
Your next step will be to start a blog and make things happen!
