Putting is one of the most important parts of golf and is the area that can allow a golfer to cut the most strokes from their handicap and rounds. So what is this magical tip? This tip includes two drills that need to be practices over and over again. Evey Tiger Woods uses both of these drills to improve his putting. The first of these drills includes 3, 5, 7, and 10 foot putts, two golf tees, and many golf balls. Follow the instructions below.

Start with 3 foot putts by setting your golf ball up about 3 feet from the hole with very little or no break in the putt. Set your putter head behind the ball and put a tee in the ground on both sides. Then, putt golf ball after golf ball until you can make 50 of these putts in a row. After making 50 in a row move back to 5 foot, then 7 foot, and finally 10 foot. You may want to lower the standard down to 25 in a row on the 7 and 10 foot putts, but that is up to you.

This drill will help you get used to stroking your putter consistently without pushing or pulling your putts. The second part of this tip involves 15, 25, and 35 foot putts. You will not need anything other than your putter and a good amount of golf balls. Read on for instructions.

Basically you are going to set yourself up with 15 foot putts and do the following: Pick a line, set yourself up on your line, take one or two practice strokes while looking at the hole, set your putter behind the ball, look at the hole one last time, and then stroke the ball into the hole. Do this exactly like this for 20 putts from each distance.

The goal of this drill is to accomplish the feel of putting. Don't think about the putt, but feel the putt. The hole is just like a light bulb in a room and when you turn that light off you can still see it for a few seconds in the dark. It is the same concept with looking at the hole before you stroke the putt. You will still be able to see the hole for a few seconds and this will help you putt the ball closer to the hole.

Use these two drills and you will be able to putt better each and every time you step on a green.
