Campfires - The African Experience

103 30
It's always cooler at night in the African Savannahs, cool breezes rising from the Atlantic Ocean sweep through the rain forest down south and onto the extensive grassland to the north.
Any tourist visiting Africa for the first time will no doubt be a little scared about outdoor activities such as camping out in the open at night.
Although wildlife still roam freely around you can sleep outdoors quite comfortably.
As for stories about Man-eating lions, tigers or leopards, huge reptilian monsters such as pythons, boa constrictors and crocodiles you only meet them either at zoos or wildlife parks so you have nothing to fear.
The average African is not much removed in character from his primitive ancestors what with all the modernism in the world today.
We still keep past traditions and burning campfires is one of them.
Camp fires have evolved to become a site for a family get-together where the elders tell fascinating stories with a moral at the end and children play games by firelight.
It is a heartwarming experience which binds the family together.
There is also enchanting music for the music lover such as you don't get in the developed world with their glitz and mechanical genre.
In Africa we have exotic music fromdrums made from animal hide, xylophones, gourds and a myriad of locally made musical instruments.
Music genres native to Africa include: Makossa,Mapouka, Fuji,Juju,Highlife and their derivatives(more on African Music later).
Therefore if you are in the US,Canada, Newzealand, Japan China or in Europe and want to have some camp fire fun: join us!
