    Scavenger Hunt

    • A scavenger hunt gives teens a little freedom away from parents. A traditional scavenger hunt consists of a list of treasures that each team must find to win. You can have a "garbage" hunt, where guests walk around the neighborhood asking for small items, such as a wire hanger or plastic cup. You can also have a "photo" hunt where each team walks around with a camera taking pictures of listed items, such as a tall woman in a dress or a red door.

    Object Toss

    • Inside or outside, a good old game of toss can turn into a laugh riot if you use the right object. Teen guests break into teams of two for a quick game or teams of four to six for a relay-style game. Party guests can toss water balloons or raw eggs if you're playing outside. If you're playing inside, it's best to stick with mess-free objects, such as a bouncy ball or orange.

    Charades

    • As long as your guests know each other well enough to act silly, a game of charades can be highly entertaining. Party guests break into two teams and flip a coin to see which team goes first. One player on the first team selects a card and acts out the words. Teammates try to guess the word, scoring points if they're right. Card themes can include popular songs, movie star names, famous cartoon characters or assorted sports games.

    Marshmallow Straw Pass

    • This fun game works indoors or outdoors, as long as there isn't enough wind to blow the marshmallows away. Each birthday party guest places a plastic straw in his mouth. The first player places a marshmallow at the end of the straw, sucking air in to hold the marshmallow in place. The second player sucks air in her straw as the first player blows air out and they pass the marshmallow. Any player who drops the marshmallow is out, and the game continues until one winner remains.

    Tie Dye

    • Setting up a tie dye station is a creative way to keep party guests entertained if they grow tired of playing games. Each guest will need one white T-shirt and several rubber bands. Once the shirt is prepared, each teen can dunk or soak the shirt in assorted buckets filled with dyes. The shirts will need to dry before guests can take them home and require a hand-washing before being worn.
