How to Cook Frozen Tofu
- 1). Thaw frozen tofu in the refrigerator for about 4 hours. Remove the tofu from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking.
- 2). Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes or crumbles. Place the tofu cubes or crumbles on a paper towel. Cover the tofu with a paper towel. Allow the tofu to sit for 30 minutes so that the towels absorb moisture from the tofu.
- 3). Prepare the dish that you intend on adding the tofu to such as soup, chili or stir-fry. Add 1 tbsp. of extra-virgin olive oil to a skillet or wok. Add spices, if desired. Put the tofu cubes or crumbles in the saucepan and sauté them for 5 minutes.
- 4). Drain the cubes or crumbles in a colander to remove excess water. Add the tofu to your other ingredients and saute, bake or broil for 10 to 15 minutes, depending on what the recipe calls for.
