How to Remove Antivirus Software on a PC
- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and then click the "Control Panel."
- 2). Double-click "Add or Remove Programs" to launch the programs console if you are using Windows XP. For Windows Vista and 7 users, launch the programs console by clicking "Program and Features" and clicking "Uninstall a Program."
- 3). Scroll through the list of programs and click your antivirus program. Click "Remove/Uninstall," then click "Yes" to confirm and remove the application from your computer. When prompted to do so, restart your computer.
- 4). Remove the antivirus program's setup folder. To do this, double-click "My Computer" on the desktop and double-click the "C:" drive. Double-click the programs folder and locate your antivirus program's setup folder. Right-click it and then click "Delete."
