Scottish Castle Orbs
I recently returned from Scotland and was puzzled by one of the pictures I ended up with. I purchased a digital camera and a camcorder for my trip; they were both brand new. My husband is from Fife, Scotland, and when his parents invited me to come and visit, I could barely stand it. I am fascinated with the old cemeteries, the Celtic crosses and the ruins of castles and other medieval buildings. I literally saw every major graveyard and battle ground in the area during my stay.
However, on the last day we went to Edinburgh. I was very excited to go to the Grey Friar's Cemetery due to all the reports I had heard. I was pretty disappointed that most of the cemetery was locked, took my pictures and my mother-in-law suggested that I would enjoy the castle. I thought, well, since my spirit-looking trip is over, I may as well make the most of it by looking at a bunch of old armor. I took probably 30 pictures inside the castle walls. On the plane I looked through my pictures, quite happy with what I had taken on my trip, nothing unusual. A week or two later, I finally loaded the pictures onto my computer to send to friends and to make a thank-you card to send to my in-laws. All of my pictures from Edinburgh Castle came out fantastic - except one. I took a picture of my in-laws standing against the castle wall overlooking the countryside. We were directly above the dungeons that are deep inside the castle. (I remember because I was shattered after all the stairs to get out.) The picture I took has floaty bits - I don't know how else to describe them - all over the place, which at first I thought something may have been on my lens or maybe light hitting dust in the air.
I have brewed over this picture for weeks and while watching a show on TLC, I saw them filming orbs. My husband yells out, "Those are orbs with tails on your picture!" So, there ya go!
