If you need to have a trip with your child and there is no other choice except to drive a car you will want to have a safe trip and have your child satisfied and asleep. There will be a few things which you have to consider before the trip, not to make it a hard job.
First of all, plan your trip in advance. Two or three days are usually enough. Prepare food for your child and something to entertain him: favorite book, music and toys. In addition, buy some new and colorful toy for her or him. New toy will be good entertainment for a long time and colors usually attracts attention of children. Also, pacifier will save for both of you some peaceful time, of course, if your child likes it. You can install a mirror in front of your baby, since children like looking into the mirrors and having fun doing it. Then, ask yourself a few questions which will help you to prepare.

How many adults will be in the car?
For the parents having a baby in a care, the main solution is to rent or buy a car child seat and put it in the rear of a car. If your trip is short and you can adjust the time of leaving just drive during your child's sleeping time, and if you are lucky you will not have any troubles.
On the other hand, if you are going to have a long trip, this can be a big job. Two parents will always cope with one baby: one is driving and another one is taking the responsibility to look after the child. Try to drive mostly when the baby is sleeping. It is obligatory to make regular breaks! Imagine yourself tied in a seat for many hours. Obviously, you will not like it. Then, imagine the energetic baby tied in a baby car seat. In a couple of hours or even sooner the baby will sing you such a song which will make you crazy and disturb you from the driving. Even a very calm child will cry sooner or later. Stop the car from time to time, take the child out of the car seat, make a few exercises together, feed her or him, and entertain. Your child should have proper rest from a car during every break you have. Planning approximate time of your trip, take into consideration these breaks.
Of course, you have to be sure your car in a good condition and you have a child first aid kit.
