    Remove Chlorine Odors from the Hair

    • 1). Pour 1 to 2 tsp. of shampoo into the palm of your hand. Add 1 to 2 tsp. of baking soda to the shampoo and mix them together using your finger.

    • 2). Apply the mixture to your hair and massage it in just as you would with normal shampoo. The baking soda provides an additional scrubbing and deodorizing action which helps to remove the chlorine from the hair.

    • 3). Leave the mixture on your hair for seven minutes to give it time to fully absorb the odor.

    • 4). Rinse the hair thoroughly with clean water to remove all traces of shampoo and baking soda. You may need to rinse longer than normal to ensure that all of the baking soda is removed.

    Remove Chlorine Odors from the Skin

    • 1). Pour 1 cup of vinegar into a bowl or bottle and add 1 cup of water. Mix the solution thoroughly to combine. If preferred, substitute lemon juice for the vinegar.

    • 2). Dip a wash cloth into the mixture and wipe down all exposed areas of skin that have a chlorine smell. If the smell is only on your hands, simply pour the mixture over them.

    • 3). Allow the mixture to sit for 30 to 60 seconds, and then rise well with clean water.
