Canada Immigration Under Federal Skilled Worker Program

Canada, the 11th largest economy is one of the developed countries. Nowadays migration rate is increasing all over the world. Especially countries like Canada have large number for migrants from all over the world. Canadas increasing economy has created many opportunities for skilled migrants.

Its increasing economy requires skilled worker to support it. Federal skilled worker program is Canadas main immigration program for skilled workers. This program has reopened on 4th May 2013.This program favors young applicants. This program assessed applicants on applicants ability to become established economically upon immigration to Canada.

This program assesses applicants on skills in Canadas official language, educational qualification, age, work experience, pervious employment in Canada and adaptability. In the next year around 55,000 permanent residents will be allocated.

Canada immigration under federal skilled worker program, skilled worker who are willing to immigrate to Canada can apply for Canadas permanent resident visa if the is they fall into one of the following categories.

Applicants have a years of continuous work experience within last decades of one of twenty four eligible occupation

Applicant have valid offer of arranged employment

Applicants are international students who are enrolled in PhD course in Canada or graduated from a PhD course within last year in Canada.

Under federal skilled worker program applicant required 67 points in an assessment of their qualities against CIC- Citizenship and Immigration Canada points based grid. Applicants are also required to prove that they can support themselves in Canada. All applicants must also obtain police certificate to show that they do not have any criminal record from their home country. If one has criminal record than this will affect the application and will may lead to rejection.

This program has been adapted to favor young applicants and those who can speak French and English. They will only process federal skilled worker application if one has-

At least one year paid and continuous work experience in 1) single occupation, 2) within last ten years, 3) a skill type 0, or skill level A or B of 2011 edition of NOC- National Occupation Classification.

And have work experience in one of the eligible occupation or, valid offer in arranged employment or are an international student who as enrolled his/her PhD program from Canada.

Minimum requirement

If application is eligible to process further then they will assess it to see the valid work experience it requires-

Minimum one year experience in same occupation

Continuous or paid (equal amount in part time or full time)

Within the last ten years

And

Managerial occupation-Skill type 0 or

Professional occupation-Skill level A or

Technical occupation or skill trade- Skill level B

On the Canadian NOC national occupation classification list-

Language ability

Applicant must meet minimum language level and include the result of language test from an agency approved by CIC citizenship and immigration Canada.

Education

Applicant must have Canadian certificate, credential or diploma and /or foreign educational credential and ECA- Education Credential Assessment by a CIC approved agency to show it is equal to completed Canadian post-secondary or secondary education credential.
