Do You Have Genital Psoriasis?

Psoriasis has many different names attached to it depending where on the body it is situated.
Hence, if it's on the genitals, it was baptized genital psoriasis.
This is also referred to as 'inverse psoriasis', because any psoriasis which appears in the folds of the skin or tender areas is referred to as "inverse psoriasis".
Psoriasis can occur in the genital area at the same time as it occurs elsewhere on the body, or it can appear in the genital area only (very exceptional).
People with genital psoriasis may have affected areas that range from small, red spots to large patches...
I wish I could show you a picture, but they are rather rare.
I could show you a picture of inverse psoriasis on other parts of the body, but obviously it would not be as wide spread on the genitals unless you're King Kong.
Genital psoriasis generally responds well to treatment such as creams.
However, due to the sensitivity of genital skin, treatment requires some special considerations.
You may experience some burning sensations so it is best to ask your dermatologist what cream to use.
Just remember that if you're going to apply creams to this area...
not to cover it with any plastic dressings and so forth...
as you might develop infections such as fungus etc.
It is best to wear loose underwear, as in boxers.
Personally, I think it is best not to even bother with it as being the area it is, there's enough moisture.
However, the cream stops the itch...
which stops you from scratching and spreading.
I would certainly recommend that you wash daily, without the use of perfumed soaps.
It is best to use a mild and natural soap on psoriasis, especially for genital psoriasis.
