Make the Walls

• 1). Think of one long side of your first piece of construction paper as the "top," the opposite side as the "bottom," and the short sides as the "sides."
  
  
• 2). Mark three equally spaced dots 6 inches from one side. Connect the dots with a broken line. Fold each side edge to meet the broken line. Crease and unfold.
  
  
• 3). Mark dots 4 inches away from the top. Connect the dots with horizontal solid lines between the side edges and the creases.
  
  
• 4). Mark dots 4 inches away from the two side edges. Connect the dots with a broken line. Mark an "X" on each of these broken lines 2 inches down from the top.
  
  
• 5). Draw a solid line from the top center point to each "X." Continue each line to the juncture of the crease and the horizontal solid line.
  
  
• 6). Place the marked paper on top of a second piece of construction paper, having all edges even. Cut through both thicknesses on the solid lines.
  
  

Make the Door and Roof

• 1). Mark light dots on the center front of one wall section, 1 and 1/2 inches away from the creases and 3 inches up from the bottom. Connect the dots to make a 3-by-3-inch door.
  
  
• 2). Cut a 1-inch strip from one long side of your third piece of construction paper. Crease the length of the strip in half. Cut along the crease. Reserve the remaining 8-by-12-inch piece for the roof.
  
  
• 3). Cut one strip into 3-inch pieces and the other into 4-inch pieces. Crisscross two 4-inch pieces on the door, forming an "X." Trim the ends of the strips even with the right angles of the door lines. Glue the strips in place.
  
  
• 4). Glue a 3-inch strip at each side of the door, covering the ends of the "X." Frame the top of the door with another 3-inch strip. If you'd like the door to open, cut along the outer edges of the right and top strips.
  
  
• 5). Fold the reserved roof section in half, short sides together. Unfold the paper and fold each side inward to meet the center crease.
  
  

Assemble the Barn

• 1). Tape the front and back side sections together on the inside of the barn. Do not overlap the seams.
  
  
• 2). Cover your work surface with wax paper. Flatten the barn with the front and left side facing up. Glue three craft sticks to the left side, one next to each crease and one centered over the taped side seam. Repeat on the other side. Allow the glue to dry completely.
  
  
• 3). Stand the barn upright. Run a bead of glue along the front and back peak edges. Dab glue at the top of each craft stick.
  
  
• 4). Place the roof on top of the barn, allowing a 1-inch overhang at both the front and back. Press the roof in place to adhere to the glue. Allow the glue to dry completely.
