How to Use iFile on the iPhone 3G 3.1.3
- 1). Tap the "Cydia" app and press the "Search" icon in the bottom menu.
- 2). Type "ifile" into the search field and press the "Search" button. Select the "iFile" listing.
- 3). Tap the "Install" button, then press the "Confirm" button on the next screen. The software will automatically install onto your iPhone and load an icon on the home screen.
- 1). Tap the "iFile" icon on the iPhone's home screen.
- 2). Press the bottom "Widget" icon to access the "Settings" menu. Slide the switch for "Application Names" to the "On" position. This will let you see the application name in the phone's file system, instead of the coded file abbreviations it normally uses.
- 3). Turn on or off any other settings you would like to adjust. Tap the "Done" button when finished.
- 4). Tap the folder name to enter the directory and view its contents. The "Applications" folder is where all of the installed apps are located, individually under its respective directory.
- 5). Tap the bottom "Home" icon at any time to return to the default "/var/mobile" directory path.
- 6). Press the top folder name button to move closer to the root directory in the iPhone's file system. For example, if you were in "/var/mobile" then you would tap the "var" button and it would take you to the "/var" directory.
- 7). Press the double-window icon on the bottom window. This lets you open another frame where you can manage multiple files and directories without losing your place in one window.
- 8). Press the "Broadcast Signal" icon at the bottom to initiate and turn on the built-in Web Server application. It will generate a URL that you can type into your computer's browser. Once loaded into your browser, you can find, edit, add and deletes files remotely.
