The hair's natural life cycle is the stages that human hair has to pass through so as to keep it healthy.
The cycle is usually broken down into three phases and every hair on our heads is required to pass through all these different stages.
The growth phase is the stage at which the hair fibers are produced.
Also referred to as the anagen stage, it describes that period when the hairs on your head are emerging from the follicles.
The stage lasts from anywhere from two to seven years and it determines how long your hair can get.
The longer the time your hair is at the anagen stage, the longer it gets.
Approximately 90% of your hair is always at this stage.
The next phase is partial regeneration or catagen stage.
The stage is considered a breakdown point, where the growth of the hair stops.
It is estimated that about 1% of the hairs on our heads is in this phase at any time and it lasts for about 2 to 3 weeks and.
The last stage is the telogen phase.
This period is also called the resting stage, which lasts for an estimated 3 or 4 months.
At this stage, no hairs are produced but some are only waiting to fall off; about 10 percent of hairs are usually at this stage.
They are either shed or pushed out of the follicle at the beginning of the next anagen stage.
An understanding of these phases of hair's natural life cycle gives you a better idea of how to prevent hairloss.
It also removes unnecessary fear when you notice that your hair is shedding.
But it is true that we do become concerned when we notice hair fall at an unusual higher rate.
This may be due to various reasons which upset the life cycle and causes hair fall at an unusual time and at an unusual rate.
This is when normal daily hair loss becomes a "hair loss problem" and one becomes a sufferer of it.
The living habits, the nature of the daily food that one takes in, the hygiene that one maintains, all or any of them may pose as a hair fall cause which upsets the usual life cycle of hair.
Taking steps to remove the causing agent will prevent hair loss and initiate the regrowth of hair.
This can be done by Ayurveda which solves the problem by implementing some natural methods like meditation, yoga, deep breathing, healthy diets and oil massaging of the scalp.
