Spa Party Tips
The idea of the spa party has recently become a growing trend in the U.
S.
and of course in the Philippines.
After all, the Filipina woman loves to be pampered and the spa party is possibly the most indulgent form.
Being pampered into pure bliss with close friends.
It doesn't get any better than that.
Whether it's for a special occasion like a bridal shower, birthday, or reunion, to having one for no reason at all, spa parties are a great way to celebrate any occasion.
Spa parties can be held at spas.
It's a very convenient way to throw a party and requires little preparation.
However, there are some downsides to throwing your party including possible restrictions on booking the spa exclusively (some spas will not close off their whole spa for a private party), time limits on your booking and of course not having the freedom to bring in food, drinks and whatever it is you would want for your spa party.
There is an alternative to spa parties in spas, though.
Make your own.
Here are some tips and ideas on how to throw your very own spa party (or sparty) and how to do it with ease.
1.
Therapists! Of course, to have a sparty, you need therapists to perform the services.
It's recommended to contact a spa or service that caters to sparties as they'll be more familiar with how to customize their treatments to fit your party.
Also do so 2-3 weeks in advance to make sure of your booking.
2.
Invites.
Now you don't have to go out of your way to make an elaborate and pricey invite (but you can).
You just need to make sure to get those RSVPs ahead of time so you know how many treatments to give to each guest and if possible what treatments to give so that your party goes smoothly.
Also, you might want to keep your guest count to about 12-15 to make the party fun yet intimate.
Larger spa parties are still okay but that means more time entertaining people and less time getting pampered.
3.
Venue.
The beauty about throwing a sparty is that you can hold it anywhere.
It's preferred that you do it at home to save you the time and effort to rent out a place but anyplace with enough space and sofas/couches and a comfortable feel will do.
Plus if it's your own house you can pretty much do anything you want.
4.
Decorations and ambiance.
Lighted candles, soothing music and some pretty decorative pieces like flowers can make a big difference for your sparty.
5.
Food and drinks.
For your party, keep the food light and refreshing.
Some great food ideas are cucumber sandwiches, cheese and crackers/biscuits, toasted bread with heavy dip and fruit trays (and if you're a chocolate fanatic you can even add chocolate fondue to the fruit tray to drive your guests wild) For drinks, go with cleansing beverages like teas or fresh juices, smoothies OR spice your spa party up with wine and cocktails like spartinis (spa martini), margaritas and if you're feeling really indulgent some champagne to make your event extra special.
6.
Create a theme.
This is optional but it makes your spa party even more glamorous, fun and exciting.
The spa party is actually a theme in itself already but if you want to add some spunk to your spa party, feel free to go all out from the invites, to the food and drinks and even to the program and entertainment if that's your preference.
This works especially well with kiddie sparties.
Hannah Montana sparty perhaps? Or Princess Pampering party anyone? Your imagination is the limit with themes.
7.
Remember that a sparty can be done just about for any special occasion and can fit according to your budget and creativity.
So have fun with your planning and make your own Spa Party today.
