About the Tunica Queen Riverboat
- According to the Tunica CVB, the riverboat has a new schedule as of April 2010. "Because our visitors have enjoyed the cruises so much in the past, we are making the cruises longer this season, and we will be offering one sightseeing cruise Tuesday through Friday," said Lynn Barton, one of the owners of the Tunica Queen. There are two sightseeing cruises offered at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday, Barton said. Dinner and entertainment cruises are offered Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The evening cruise allows visitors to view the sunset over the Mississippi River. Cruises are available March through November and in December for holiday parties and groups.
- As of April 2010, tickets for sightseeing tours are $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and $7.50 for children age 5 to 12, according to the CVB. Entertainment and dinner cruises are $47 for adults, $44 for seniors, $22 for children age 5 to 9 and children under 4 are free. Reservations are required for all dinner cruises.
- The four-course dinner on board the riverboat includes prime rib, red beans and rice, roasted turkey, signature sides and dessert as well as a selection of wine and premium liquor, Barton said. "There is always lively entertainment on our boat for the sightseeing and dinner cruises as well," Barton said.
- The riverboat hosts cruises for all types of occasions, including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties and family reunions. Group rates are available for groups of 20 or more. Contact the sales office for rates.
- Tunica is located 30 minutes south of Memphis, Tenn. The riverboat departs from the Tunica RiverPark landing. The RiverPark is a museum, nature trail and overlook located on the harbor of the eastern bank of the Mississippi River. The park includes a 130-acre riverside forest with walking trails.
