    • 1). Reboot the Windows 7 computer and type the username and password of an account with Administrator privileges when prompted at the login screen. Note that you may have to press and hold the "Shift" key just before the user selection screen appears if the computer does not usually provide a login prompt. Alternatively, you can select the "Switch User" option, if one of the user accounts displayed has Administrator privileges.

    • 2). Click the "Start" button, click "Programs," select the VNC program group, click the "VNC Server (Service-Mode)" item and then choose the "Register VNC Service" icon. Click "OK" in the notification window that appears to complete the service registration.

    • 3). Restart the computer andand point to "VNC Server (Service-Mode)" again, and then select the "Configure VNC Service" icon.

    • 4). Click the "Authentication" tab and then select the "Configure" button. Type a password that will be used by the VNC Viewer client application to connect to the service and click "OK." On the "Connections" tab, click the "Accept connections on port" check box.

    • 5). Type a number over 10000 but less than 65535 in both fields provided and note the number entered as that is the port number of the VNC Service that must be specified by a VNC client computer when establishing a VNC session with the VNC Service. Click "OK."
