Plus Size Halloween Costumes That Look Good

Here are five of the main reasons plus size costumes have made a significant change in not only the variety of costumes offered for plus sizes, but the supply and market as well.
1) Plus size men and women, (esp women) were considered for so long as a minority that most companies didn't even consider us as a target or profitable market.
Men I don't mean to concentrate on the women more, it's just that larger men are quite often considered an asset.
Take a look at football, not to many coaches go looking for a 120 lb linebacker.
OK, back to the subject.
Now, pretty much everyone knows that the majority of this country is size 14 or over, (I know I don't consider a 14 a plus size either but that's what the stats showed).
Now, shoot they even have a plus size model competing on America's Next Top Model.
Who would have thought.
2) I think plus size men and women feel more confident about themselves now than they did before.
We are willing to wear that outfit that shows our size a little, and not wear the big cover up everything tank dress or shirt.
I don't exactly know why that is other than if they don't like it, oh well.
If you haven't figured it out by now I'm a full-figured, plus size, chunky, whatever you want to call it woman, and have been most of my life.
3) Clothing designers are now making not just costumes but entire clothing lines geared for us.
How about them apples.
Five years ago, (maybe more) if I walked into a major retail outlet or looked online for plus size clothing or the "womans" section as most call it, you would have thought that I was looking for something for my mom, (size 5 God love her).
It wasn't that there was nothing there to choose from, it just looked like I had gone into the plus size/geriatric department.
And if you were looking for sportswear, HA! Now there's Just My Size This, and Just My Size that and clothes that are pretty hot if I do say so myself.
4) Men and women have spoken up and pretty much demanded more, and they listened.
I have several friends who have plus size teens and I am amazed now at some of the clothing that is geared towards them, (still should be more) Companies like WalMart literally offer a lot of the same clothing in the plus sizes now as they carry in smalls, (ha ha I didn't say regular) 5) Companies have learned that this is a market that has exploded with everything from evening wear, to sportswear, lingerie, and yes even Halloween costumes, and if their not hitting that market, they may still be making money but not what they could be.
So if you're a plus size and thinking there isn't a costume that would suit you, fit you, or that you would look good in, THINK AGAIN.
Take a look at what's available, go to that party, knock their socks off and win first prize You'll be glad you did.
Have a fabulous and safe Halloween.
