How to Black Out Car Windows

    • 1). Buy a DIY window tinting kit online or from your local mechanic.

    • 2). Trace an outline of the window you plan to black out onto a sheet of paper. Cut out the shape with scissors, and use it as a template when cutting the window tint.

    • 3). Remove any plastic covering from your car window, and wash down the inside with warm water and a sponge.

    • 4). Place your window tint on the inside of the glass and smooth it down by hand, gradually pulling away the adhesive backing.

    • 5). Prevent air bubbles with a heat gun. Plug the heat gun into a socket, turn it on and move the gun slowly back and forth over the tinted window, starting from the top and working your way toward the bottom. Keep the tip of the gun 5 to 6 inches from the glass at all times, and smooth out any air bubbles as you go.

    • 6). Repeat the process for each of the car windows you want to black out.
