Author John Green is proud to make Indianapolis his home and he wants  the world to know what a great place it is. . He based his book, The New York Times best seller,  in Indianapolis. 

The Fault in Our Stars takes place  not only in Green's favorite Indiana city, but in spots usually only locals know about. The successful book was turned into a screenplay. and it was recently released in the theaters as a  major motion picture which has shown been shown to a big following.

Many have been curious as to exactly where the scenes of the blockbuster took place since they aren't your usual tourist attractions. Visit Indy, also known as the Indianapolis Convention and Visitors Bureau, has answered that question and more. They have set up a complete guide to the locations used forThe Fault in Our Stars. Head to Funky Bones-

This may sound like a hip club, but it is actually is a permanent exhibition within the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The film characters of Hazel and Gus aren't the only ones to enjoy it here. It's a popular place for picnicking. Many children -- and some adults as well -- also enjoy climbing on the giant skeleton here.

 

Visit Crown Hill Cemetary-

This is much more than a cemetery. It's a 555 acre park is at the highest point in Indianapolis and offers some of the best views of the city's skyline.

In addition to its scenic beauty, Crown Hill Cemetery offers some historical significance. It is the burial place of President Benjamin Harrison, notorious criminal John Dillinger, and writer Kurt Vonnegut, who lived in Indianapolis and has his family buried here.

 

Climb the Ruins at Holliday Park-

Ruins in the Midwest? Yes, at least in this popular park. Holliday Park is on the north side of Indy. This is a huge playground that's fun for kids of all ages, whether they are toddlers or lovesick teenagers. Leave plenty of time so you can take a leisurely walk with nature or go on a hike on one of this Indianapolis park's trails.

 

Shop at Broad Ripple Farmer's Market-

Hazel andGus made a good choice when going to this marketFrom May through November, Broad Ripple High School, the same high school where talk show host David Letterman went to school, hosts a farmer's market each Saturday. A large selection of local fruits and vegetables can always be found at this location.

Explore Castleton Square Mall-

Gus and Hazel just went to the food court at Castleton Square, but it should be noted that this mall is the largest in the state. It was also named by Forbes as one of the best in the nation. Before leaving the shopping center, check out the bi-level racing track at Fastimes Indoor Karting, where you can take a spin in the hometown of one of the most famous races in the world.
