    • 1). Cook with a fryer that has an odor-reducing filter. Deep fryers that use a filter are equipped with carbon. Carbon works by trapping odors in its pores. Unlike other odor masking techniques, carbon absorbs odors.

    • 2). Clean your kitchen to remove the fried food smell. Use a degreaser on countertops and cabinets and wash any kitchen curtains. Run the garbage disposal for a few minutes if you put oil or food in the sink.

    • 3). Open windows to allow fresh air into your kitchen while you are cooking. Turn on any fans in your home. This will filter the air before the odors have a chance to settle.

    • 4). Boil a cup of water and 2 tablespoons of vinegar while frying food. Vinegar is commonly used for odor elimination.

    • 5). Fill a couple of bowls with vinegar. Set them on the countertop while you are cooking. For heavy frying odors, soak a dish towel in vinegar. Remove the excess moisture from the dish towel and wave it around the kitchen.
