How to Make a MSN Hotmail Account
- 1). Go to the MSN Hotmail homepage. See the link in Resources section of this article. Click the "Sign up" button.
- 2). Enter you desired Hotmail address in the first box, labeled "Hotmail address." Press "Check availability" to make sure your preferred email address has not already been taken by another user. Try another address if it has.
- 3). Type a password. You will be asked for this whenever you sign into your Hotmail account. Retype the password in the box provided.
- 4). Enter your alternate email address if you have one, or choose a question from the list provided. The question or alternate email address is simply a way of Hotmail verifying your identity if you forget your password.
- 5). Input your name, nationality and date of birth into the boxes provided.
- 6). Type the distorted code displayed on screen into the box provided beneath it. Again, this is a verification technique to stop bots registering email addresses. There is an "audio" option for those who are partially sighted.
- 7). Select whether you want to receive promotional offers from MSN and affiliates by checking or unchecking the tickbox provided.
- 8). Press the "I accept" button at the bottom of the screen to indicate you accept Hotmail's terms and conditions.
