How to Build a Pellet BBQ
- 1). Place the large bowl on a base that is heat resistant. A fire pit may be ideal for use at home or tailgate parties. When camping or backpacking, a ring of rocks will suffice.
- 2). Fill the bowl with wood pellets.
- 3). Light the wood pellets using your preferred method. When camping, flint and steel may be ideal. Elsewhere, lighter fluid and matches may be a better choice.
- 4). Place the metal grill on top of the bowl. Food can be placed directly on the grill to cook when the pellets are hot enough for your needs. Bright orange pellets, which take about 10 minutes to achieve, are ideal for cooking meat and vegetables. White pellets, which take about 45 minutes to achieve, are ideal for making breads and pastries, such as pancakes and brownies.
