The Value of Belonging to a Community

What is 'community'? A 'community' could be described as a 'family of like-minded people who exist not solely for themselves, but also for the overall benefit of others.
' In other words, they care about each other.
Again we can learn some valuable lessons from snow geese as they migrate thousands of miles to their breeding grounds.
We learn that during flight, the geese honk from behind to encourage (so it is thought) those up front to keep up their speed.
Lesson: in the same way, we need to be 'honkers', people who encourage those who lead.
We also need to be careful what we say when we honk from behind! Here is another lesson that we learn from the geese.
When a goose gets sick, or is wounded by gunshot, and falls out, two geese fall out of formation and follow that goose down to help and protect him/her.
They stay with him until he is either able to fly and then they launch out on their own or with another formation until they eventually are reunited with their group.
Lesson: If we have the sense of a goose, we will stand by each other, protect one another and sometimes make new friends who seem to be going in our direction! Working as part of a community is key in our quest to reach our goals.
Let's face it, today's world is full of individuals who are often negative, skeptical and cynical about life in general.
So, as we lead people, we need to be careful to encourage a different culture - a culture of positivity, encouragement, and of caring for others.
At the end of the day, humans are 'relational beings - we need each other.
Just like the snow geese, we need to live in a way that builds 'community' rather than try and 'fly solo.
' If we are going to succeed as internet marketers, we need to be part of a community as I am.
