Irene's is a neighborhood bistro frequented by locals, and not on the usual visitors' radar. That's what makes it so much fun to find if you're a visitor. Irene's is a happy place with friendly waiters. It has a tavern feel, loud and fun, in an old French Quarter building.

Unique Cuisine:

Irene's fare is a combination of French Provincial and Italian cuisine. The smell of garlic meets you at the door.

While Irene's offers some very creative pasta dishes, the soft shell crab pasta come to mind, the emphasis is on meat and seafood.

Location and Hours:

Irene's is located 539 St. Phillip Street in the French Quarter. Irene's only takes limited reservations if space is available, which it usually isn't. We go early and get in line before it opens at 5:30. If you can't get in Irene's, try Tommy's Cuisine in the Warehouse/Arts District. Tommy was Irene's long time partner and has now opened his own restaurant with many of the same dishes.
