Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Michael Keaton ? What Did They Overlook When Playing Batman? ?I have no idea what they overlooked. I?ve only seen pieces of the movies. But knowing their work I know they brought a great deal to the movie. I?m sure that what they were doing was appealing to many people. But in my reading about it, there were certain things that were missing. I?m sure it wasn?t on the shoulder of the actor who was playing the character.
It was probably the overall approach. And this one could revive the franchise.?
Would Adam West Have Done a Darker ?Batman? Episode?: ?Yes, I would have liked it because I would have been challenged by it to give Batman a different kind of dimension. Even now at my age, if we were to do another generation of Batman, that is an older one or a Bruce Wayne who is troubled and wanders the streets, and maybe turns the mantle over to Christian Bale or someone similar. I don?t mean to sound self-serving or somebody looking for a job but I think that would be challenging. And the bright thing is that it would probably bring in both audiences.?
Adam West on the Rumors He Wanted a Cameo in the First ?Batman? Movie: ?There was no truth to that. I was called about a cameo in the first movie and I turned it down. There were people exploring it. But I really have always felt that, you know, you?re offered a cameo and it can go into editing and that cameo can be cut and reduced to 10 seconds and then you endorse the movie as the previous Batman or whatever.
Your name is used in the marketing and promotion and no, I didn?t like the idea. But I think to play a villain or to do more than a cameo might be a challenge.
West?s Opinion of the New Batmobile in "Batman Begins:" ?I don?t mean to deprecate in any way the new movie because I haven?t seen it and I know they really tried hard to keep this franchise alive, finally, but I?ve always found from my mail and observations out there that people love our older Batmobile because it?s not too sleek. It?s fun. I mean, how can you resist a car that has a label, a large sign on everything? And we did have the world?s first car phone.?
