How to Mount a Honeywell Security Motion Sensor
- 1). Note the wiring diagram included with your Honeywell motion sensor. The wiring diagram explains the pre-drilled holes on the mounting plate and how you can use the holes to angle the Honeywell Security sensor in the direction you prefer.
- 2). Mount a Honeywell Security motion sensor at an angle using the pre-drilled holes on the side of the mounting plate. The edges of the mounting plate are angled. Place the edge of the mounting plate flush against the wall so the front of the mounting plate faces the direction you want to install the Honeywell motion sensor. Drill screws through the pre-drilled holes to secure the mounting plate to the wall at an angle. When you mount a Honeywell Security motion sensor at an angle, you only need to insert screws in one side of the mounting plate. The motion sensor is light enough that it doesn't require you use more than two screws to mount the sensor.
- 3). Install a Honeywell Security motion sensor facing straight off a wall using the pre-drilled holes in the middle of the back of the mounting plate. Press the mounting plate flush against the wall, and then drill screws through the pre-drilled holes to mount the mounting plate to the wall.
- 4). Line up the Honeywell motion sensor with the mounting plate and then press the sensor into the mounting plate until you hear a click. This secures the Honeywell Security sensor to the mounting plate to finish the installation of the Honeywell Security motion sensor.
