New Puppy Needs

Your new puppy should be vaccinated to prevent serious harmful diseases.
There are many potentially fatal diseases that are easily prevented with vaccination.
It is strange that there is a strong movement against vaccination of dogs.
Vaccination has become a victim of its success.
In fifteen years as a veterinarian, I have never seen a dog die from a vaccination, and I have done thousands of them.
Reactions are extremely rare despite the negative publicity.
The worst reaction I have seen after vaccinating thousands and thousands of dogs is a little pain at the injection site and an occasional lump from the vaccine which stimulates the aggregation of immune cells.
The ridiculous suggestion that immunisation destroys the immune system is dangerous and misplaced.
I have not seen a dog die from a vaccination, nor have any of the hundreds of colleagues I have in the profession.
I have however seen hundreds of dogs die from parvo virus, distemper and hepatitis.
A trip to any third world country will demonstrate the importance of nation.
You will see dogs and puppies dieing in the gutter in pools of their own vomit and diarrhoea.
Please vaccinate your pet.
Dog food is also a mystery to many new dog owners.
This is again due to the many unqualified opinions that suggest all sorts of ridiculous diets that are imbalanced.
RAW food seems to be all the current rage.
It is nutritionally imbalanced.
Bones are potentially dangerous to your dog as they can cause obstructions and fracture teeth.
RAW food frequently contains pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella, Campylobacter, E.
coli and Clostridium.
These cause serious food poisoning.
Some raw food with a balanced commercial food is more acceptable.
Vitamin and mineral imbalance causes many problems in a growing dog.
Puppies should be wormed against harmful intestinal parasites.
This is as simple as giving a broad spectrum worm tablet.
Flea control is important.
Avoid supermarket products containing pyrethrins and organophosphates.
There are many safe products available.
Talk to your veterinarian.
Don't forget to love your puppy.
Love makes the world go round.
