Healing Pain Through Chiropractic
I love my chiropractor.
I had always thought that chiropractors were doctor wannabes and had never understood exactly what they did or how.
All I heard was it was about realigning the spine and bones and it was supposed to cure a host of ills.
My doctor sure didn't have much faith in them and I really didn't either.
Then, one day I was desperate for help and my entire opinion changed.
I had developed intense pain in the ball of my foot.
I went to my doctor and he put me in a foot cast for a time, but it didn't help.
Next, I went to an orthopedic.
He gave me a series of very pain shots that were supposed to numb my foot, but didn't work.
The only option left was surgery to remove some of the nerves in my foot.
One day, I happened to visit a health fair where I work.
The pain shot had worn off and I was in a great deal of pain.
One of our local chiropractors was there and I limped over to see her.
I told her about my issue with my foot and asked if there was anything chiropractic could do.
She told me to make an appointment that she could help.
I figured I had nothing to lose.
I went for the first visit and was x-rayed and completely examined.
The director showed me how my spine was out of alignment and said that the misalignment was causing my foot pain.
She explained that sometimes when a nerve in one part of the body was impinged, then the pain would sometimes show up in unexpected places.
She gave me an adjustment and I was amazed because I actually felt some relief.
I couldn't believe it.
She started me on a treatment program for three days a week.
Within two weeks, I had absolutely no more pain.
I called my orthopedic and cancelled surgery.
Since then, I have had no more pain in my foot and, as an added bonus, my migraines have significantly decreased.
