How to Repair Enamel on Teeth
- 1). Use proper mouth care especially in the morning after waking, one hour after meals and before bedtime. Wash your mouth, brush your teeth, floss and use a nonacidic mouthwash.
- 2). Watch what you eat and drink. Avoid caffeine or carbonated drinks and drink without moving the liquid around your mouth.
- 3). Have something nonacidic to end your meal such as milk or cheese. This will neutralize the acids that were ingested during the meal and remove some of the acid from your teeth.
- 4). Chew gum or use sucking candies with no sugar. There are many sugar-free products on the market. Use them instead of gum or candy with sugar.
- 5). Use a mouthwash with fluoride to neutralize the acid and build a protective coating on your teeth.
- 6). Get regular checkups at your dentist at least twice a year and inform him of any changes in your overall health.
