    • 1). Remove the mounting brackets from the vent fan. Position the vent fan against the outside of the cabinet in the desired location. Mark the section of the cabinet that must be removed by tracing the outside of the vent fan.

    • 2). Drill a hole into the center of the section that must be removed and use that hole as a starter to cut out the rest of the section using a small saw. Cut each edge of the section so that it is smoothly and evenly cut, and then sand the edges with sandpaper.

    • 3). Place the vent fan within the hole. Cut out or sand off any excess wood that prevents the fan from fitting within the hole until the vent fan fits snugly within the hole. Make sure that the electrical cord for the fan is facing inward.

    • 4). Plug the fan in and test it to make sure that it is set up to vent air out of the cabinet. Flip the fan around if the air is blowing inward so that the fan will blow hot air out of the cabinet.

    • 5). Set the mounting brackets on either side of the van. Mark the location of the mounting bracket screw holes on the interior and the exterior and drill out the holes. Slide the mounting equipment through the holes and either fasten the brackets together with a bolt and wing-nut combination or screw the mounting brackets directly into the wood with the included screws.
