How to Make a Chocolate Cake With Pudding Mix
- 1). Spray the baking pan with release spray like Pam. Then flour the pan. Turn the pan over and tap the bottom to remove any loose flour that may remain.
- 2). Pour the cake mix into the bowl. Add one 3 1/2 ounce package of chocolate pudding mix, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil and 1 cup of water. Mix using the electric mixer set on medium for two minutes.
- 3). Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan. Hold the filled pan about 3 inches above a table and drop it to the surface about three or four times. This will allow any bubbles in the cake mixture to rise to the top, rather than being trapped and creating holes in the cake.
- 4). Bake the cake mix in a 350 degree F oven according to the cake mix box instructions. The baking time will vary, but the cake will be done when a toothpick inserted halfway between the center and edge of the cake comes out clean.
- 5). Remove the cake from the oven when it is done and set it on the counter for 15 minutes to cool. After 15 minutes, remove the cake from the pan and cool it the rest of the way on a cake rack.
- 6). Serve the cake topped with ice cream topping, crushed berries, whipped cream, powdered sugar or any combination of the above.
